I spent my first ten years in Vismarlov, a small village in the Scanian countryside. After my parents divorced, I moved to Lund with my dad and little brother Alf. My other siblings Alexandra, Amanda, Axel and Astrid were of course always in the vicinity of me... I stayed in Lund until 2007 when job and training made me move up to Stockholm where I live today.

I started boxing because it was a great workout and really had not thought of anything more than that until I was suddenly in the midst of my first match, nothing can compare to the adrenaline rush ... Boxing went from a hobby to a lifestyle when I was selected for the national team only 18 months after I first began to box. My first World championship gold in 2001 changed my way of looking at life and a number of international medals later I am still passionate about my sport. I really only stopped boxing because of injuries or my thyroid disease. My main goal is still ahead of me - the 2012 London Olympics ...

Outside of boxing, I have an education in chemistry from the University of Lund. After a quick stop in the industry, I went back to university, the Royal Institute of Technology for a PhD. Having two careers is both exhausting and rewarding. It is reassuring to have an education to fall back on while it's fun and stimulating. However, it is very hard and therefore I have devoted the last years before the Olympic Games exclusively for boxing.
